Candy in a Jar Overnight Oats
I am trying to get on a cleaner eating plan and to make that successful I need to plan ahead.
I have been googling a lot about Overnight Oats.
The first few times I tried them I did not like them. I think the concept of eating oatmeal cold was foreign to me.
I used to make them and then even throw them into a pot to heat them up - what is the point in that - I might as well have just made the oatmeal?
So I decided to give it a go again but I searched for recipes that I thought would taste ok cold - and I landed on one with peanut butter and chocolate.
It got me excited again so I thought I would just adapt a few things to make sure I had a fruit in there.
What is also awesome about this is that if you choose the right oats and the right milk this is gluten free and vegan!
Win win in my books!
So here is my new favourite recipe - makes one small amount - I will in the future double this as it was not enough to share with my little man as you can see in the video below ;-)
Candy in a Jar Overnight Oats:
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp 100% pure cocoa
1/2 cup almond milk (or mylk of your choice)
Mash the ingredients listed above all together in a mason jar - mix mix mix mix mix well - or do as I do and blend!
Then add 1/2 whole grain oats (not quick ones - but the super healthy ones)
Mix again - add to fridge
Let soak overnight
Optional - Top with:
Enjoy your good for you candy breakfast!
