My Daily Routine with Essential Oils for Living a More Natural Life
Curious to what a day in the life of an oil user looks like?What you should know is that it has taken me a few years to build my collection and to truly incorporate essential oils and natural wellness products into my daily routine.
Don't forget our aim here at HOO is progress not perfection.
So if you are brand new to this lifestyle choose one area you want to uplevel or upgrade and start there.
Here is how I typically use my essential oils on a day to day basis:
Early Morning Routine
Salt Lamp and Diffuser turned on (oils for this are intuitively chosen based on my needs and wants fresh out of bed).
Coffee On. Sometimes I add a drop of peppermint or cinnamon to this.
1L Water filled with a citrus oil added. I alternate between lemon, tangerine, grapefruit and slim and sassy. I try to drink a water while I am waiting for my coffee.
Take my early morning supplements:
TerraZyme Digestive Supplement
PB Assist Probiotic
Zendocrine Detoxification blend (for my colon)
Set aside the rest of my supplements for the day. I take two small stackable coffee cups. One for lunch and one for dinner.
Lunch time: a half dose of my Life Long Vitality Supplements
An my empty veggie cap. I have an empty 15ml bottle that I added equal amount of: Copaiba, Frankincense, Turmeric + Yarrow|Pom. I add 5 drops of this oil blend to my veggie cap and top IQ Mega as my oil for dilution.
Dinner: a half dose of my Life Long Vitality Supplements
Magnesium supplment (to help with sleep)
Apply my Wonder Woman blend on my mid section.
Apply my Transform Roller Bottle on my pulse points.
Oils for Sports, Movement or Relaxation
Diffuser refreshed if needed.
Breathe Vapour Stick on my chest to open airways
Peppermint Touch Roller on my temples or back of the next to increase energy
Deep Blue Soothing Blend on tired achy muscles and to help aid in recovery
Purify Cleansing Blend Spray to cleanse equipment and rid smelly scents (100ml spray bottle + distilled water + 30 drops Purify. Shake well before each use.)
For Yoga I use Lavender or a blend from the Yoga Collection (Anchor, Align, Arise)
Meditation I use Balance, Vetiver or Cedarwood.
Mid Morning Routine
Body Movement. I alternate between jogging, strength training, yoga and meditation (see oils listed above).
Tidy, clean as needed with all DIY Cleaners (find all my DIY Green Cleaning Recipes here)
InTune Focus Blend on pulse points to put me in the “zone” for work.
Brush teeth with OnGuard Natural Whitening Toothpaste + rinse with OnGuard Mouthwash (tastes like cinnamon candy hearts - swoon)
Use dōTERRA Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair Serum. (on non shampoo days I use a DIY Dry Shampoo and Ylang Ylang)
Detoxifying Body Scrub (1/2 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup salt / or baking soda, lavender + melaleuca tea tree - find recipe here)
Body Spray (100ml glass spray bottle, 15 drops Cheer, 15 drops Balance, 15 drops Lemon - find all my spray recipes here). Or the Beautiful Body Mist.
My Face Routine
In the shower I use my Homemade Face scrub (equal parts coconut oil + baking soda + 3 drops Lavender + 3 drops Melaleuca Tea Tree Oil).
Out of the shower, I take off any residual Eye Makeup with castor oil.
I use a few sprays of Rose Water as my toner.
a tiny amount of brightening gel on my face.
Then I use my facial serum with 2 drops of Yarrow|Pom (magic).
Melaleuca Tea Tree oil or HD Clear roller for spot treatment and trouble areas.
Diffuser with Calming oils (Serenity Calming Blend, Lavender, Vetiver etc)
When I had a tub I often had a detox Bath 2-3 times per week. 1 cup with Epsom salts, 1/2 cup baking soda and 3-4 drops of essential oils. (find recipe here)
Homemade Clay Mask (2 tablespoons clay, 2 tablespoons ACV, 2 drops Lavender - find recipe here) or the dōTERRA Detox mask.
Apply Vetiver and Cedarwood on my feet for a restful sleep.
