Golden Milk Turmeric Latte

This decadent and Delicious Golden Milk Latte has been on the menu all week long.I have made a recipe similar to this a few times before and I never enjoyed it, so I discarded it even though I knew all of the incredible health benefits it offered.But then Golden Paste and Golden Milk Latte kept finding its way to me and again the least benefits were too good to deny.  So then I started experimenting and I finally found a recipe that I am madly in love with!It is a cup of spicy coconut cinnamon heaven.

Why are Golden Lattes all the rage:

  • gently detoxifies liver

  • boots immunity by improving liver function and protecting liver tissue

  • aids digestion and prevents gas and bloating

  • cleanses and purifies blood

  • relieves common cold symptoms

  • promotes healthy weight loss by aiding in fat metabolism

Golden Turmeric Latte with essential oils

Golden Turmeric Milk Latte Recipe #1:

  • 1 heaping teaspoon turmeric (organic only)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • a dash of nutmeg

  • Small dash of black pepper

  • Sprinkle of cayenne pepper

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (organic only)

  • 1 teaspoon honey (the more I make this recipe the less honey I use)

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 2 cups mylk (almond or rice)

Directions:I have a blender that heats and blends (Thermomix).  If you have one of these as well then set your favourite hot beverage temp, add all ingredients and blend once it is fully warmed.  I do 70 degrees.Do not have a fancy blender:   Heat mylk, turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, black pepper and cayenne pepper to desired temperature.  Be sure not to ever bring this to a boil.Add warmed mylk to a blender or food processor with the honey, vanilla and coconut oilBlend and enjoy your frothy delicious Golden Milk Latte!

Golden Turmeric Latte Recipe #2:

This specific recipe uses essential oils (because you know I am down with that)

  • Heat 1 mug of nut milk on low to medium heat. 

  • With a Hand mixer or blender add the following and mix well together:

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon of fat (I used MCT oil). Side note. When using the pure essential oil from dōTERRA you actually do not need an oil or a pepper to help carry it to the body. I add this just for the extra healthy fat bonus, plus it makes it creamier.

  • 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 drop of dōTERRA Ginger essential oil 

  • 2 drops Turmeric dōTERRA Essential oil. 

    Optional addition is 1/2 tsp honey or maple syrup. I wish I didn’t add this though because mine is way too sweet.
