Base Salve Recipe + Variations
This is by far one of the best recipes I have found. I have used it for so much and I want to share it with you. This recipe is adapted from Camp Wanders Naked Salve (found here)
With this base you can use it as a homemade carrier cream. It is really amazing to just have laying around so that when you want to put a grounding blend on your feet you can pamper yourself. Or if you need to cream some dry cracked skin you can scent it any way you want! There are a ton of variations that you can do as well - get creative - once you try it you are going to be in love and it will be a recipe you make again and againBelow, I have listed the variations I use often.
This recipe will make (10-12) jars if you are using a 30ml jar and can be stored for up to 3 months.
1 cup coconut oil
1 cup organic grapeseed oil
4 tablespoons organic beeswax pastilles
On low heat, melt the coconut, olive oil and beeswax in a warm bath (a bowl on top of a pot of hot water), stirring every few minutes until melted. You want a slow melt - should take about 20 minutes. Pour into glass jars, cover with a paper towel and let completely cool overnight.
This recipe can be stored for up to 2-3 months. Store extra jars in the fridge. To make a variation take out of the fridge for 6-10 hours before you mix in your oils (mix well).
